Among many games from the event, pole vault used to be the scariest, trickiest, and hardest to do as a school kid, maybe because of its height and the risk of falling on the wrong side, where no safety mat waited. It felt like trying to fly with a borrowed wing. Even if it was scary and hard, if your pole didn't fall, then even your own fall felt less frightening-almost like landing in a dream. A happy fall, I must say.
