Chants of a monkey mind

Set in a bustling New Delhi bus stand, this painting captures the chaos, energy, and layered lives of those I encounter daily-street performers, musicians, sex workers, and commuters. The figures spill upward in a towering formation, echoing the crowdedness of city life and the restless movement of thought.
The work reflects on loneliness amid density, and the need for human connection beyond cultural or social divides. Painted on drochak bureh-a barley sack commonly used in Tibetan refugee settlements-this humble material carries personal and collective memory, rooted in my upbringing and resourceful beginnings as an artist.
